169 Near Colierville Miss June 17th 1864 Friday Camped in woods near Wolf River gaurding the pioneer Corps while they build Bridges on the Memphis & Charlston R. R. Many straglers from Sturgis late expedition are coming in bare footed & clothes in Rags. I have been quite unwell for some days. in fact I have never been well since my sicknes at Davenport Iowa
