187 La Grange Tennessee July 5th 1864 Tuesday our Ratons for 3 days were issued last night, and this morning we marched at 8 oclock on the Road to Ripley. We marched to Davis Creek and Camped at 1 oclock. Very Hot & opressive 5 of our Company gave out & Capt Cook Leaving the fall out passes & Company with me. Rain this evening
