14 Some men of Co. "E". refused to drill this morning, and by Special order No. 17 Major Knee reduced the non commissioned officers, [Nss?] Hart & Cork to the ranks and the privates He ordered on 10 days extra duty. Quite a mutiness spirit is manifested in the Regt and in fact in every veteran Regiment about being retained in the service after the war is over, and drills and other duties are looked upon as unnecessary unjust & useless by the men. (Vertically, at left:-) Receipted to Sergt. Mathews Regt Baker for 2.00 being the amt in full of [Recpt?] for week
