22 Selma Ala July 16" 1865 Sunday I Came of Guard this morning. Washed and had a short Sleep, wrote a letter to Mrs Henderson. Went to the Presbreterian Church this evening heard a very good Sermon, Very eloquently delivered on a Text from Isaiah about putting trust in God. The Church pulpit is draped in Mourning for their late Pastor who was Killed while fighting Wilsons Cavilry April 2 1865.
