23 Selma Ala, July 17" 1865 Monday The 27" Iowa Infty passed through Selma on their way Home this morning over 100 Recruts were turned over to our Regt. the Recruits of Each Company of the 27 to the same lettered Company of the 12" Co C got 13, one of them was James Henderson Co, E, a Special transfer in His Case was made at my request to Co, "C". I recd with them 13 Haversacks 13 Canteens 12 knapsacks to [act?] for next return.
