29 Selma Ala, July 21st 1865 Friday the 12th Iowa V.V. Infty Regt had the Closest Inspection to day they ever Had Conducted by Lt. Colonel Lyons of 21st Mo Corps Inspector 16" Corps. Co. C. bore the Inspection well, many of the Companies had very incomplete records. But our police arrangements were reported good quarters, Arms &c good order. Discipline, Soldierly Appearance &c good. the 35" Iowa & 33 Mo Infty Regiments left for Home on train to day
