47 Selma Ala Aug. 5 1865 Saturday Detailed Officer of Provost Guard. had orders from Officer of the Day to Patrol the City at night for men frequenting Houses of Ill fame, especialy the places where White Soldiers & Colored Women comit Miscegenantion, and in Carrying out these Orders, in East Selma I found some of the lowest Sinks of vice patronized by Solders who seem to have lost all regard for Decency
