52 Selma Ala Aug 8" 1865 Tuesday Detailed Officer of the Provost Guard Capt. Bremner in Command. I find that this Capt John Bremner is a son of the Bremners of Banff North of Scotland and the same Family my Grand Mother on my Mothers side belongs too. They reside in Manchester Delaware Co Iowa. Two White Citizens were commited to prison for the Murder of a Negro to day 3 black men as witnesses. [?] in all Such Cases
