66 used and if the War Dept order had been Complied with the 12" Iowa Vet.Vol. would have been mustered out as it is the oldest Veteran Regt. in the State of Ala. All the Officers in the Regt. signed the Demand for an explanation except Capt Hanscom of Co. B. Capt Clark of D & G. M. Morehead who prefer to remain in Service for pecuniary reasons, as they are doubtles making more money now than they Could in private life.
