34 Center Ala Oct 15" 1865 Sunday Went to Church this forenoon and heard a Sermon by an ex Confederate Soldier of the Presbiterian persuasion. He Baptized two Ladies by pouring a few drops on their Head, accompanied by Some advice with regard to faith and action &c and then dismissed the Meeting by Singing a long Metre Doxology. I wrote a letter to D. B. Henderson Collector of Internal Revenue 3 District of Iowa Congressional. The men are mostly Sick with Chills & fever Capt. Reed has made a Contract with a Citizen Doctor to attend the Company for $50 00/00 per Month, Dr. Sharp..
