46 Center Ala, Oct 24" 1865 Tuesday The entire Company is now boarding out with the Citizens of the village, Silas Cropman being the last one to strike out, and even he seems to [rub?] up some with a view to please the pretty young Ladies of Center. I visited Judge [Standerford's?] Family this evening with Capt Reed by special invitation, & found them a very sociable Family. The young Ladies all play & sing finely. The grown Ladies, still have Strong Secession proclivities but are to well bred to make them exceptionable.
