2 Center Ala Nov 27" 1865 Monday I wrote a long letter to Mrs. C. J. Henderson to day. I Recd to day one letter from Mrs. Henderson in which she acknowledged the Receipt of $50,00 I sent by Sergt Ketchum also $10,00 I sent by mail. I Received my Returns from the Ordinance Dept. Acknowledging the Corrections of my Returns for the 3rd quarter of 1865 for Co. C. which settles my responsibility to the Govt. An Order Came through from Talladega for Capt. Reed to Report at Jacksonville with His Company excepting myself and 20 men. Capt Reed asked to be allowed to remain as the men are in good winter Quarters.
