3 Center Ala Nov 28" 1865 Tuesday The Curier returned from Jacksonville, and instead of the Capt being allowed to remain here, The Order Came in full as it should have done at first, which Releives Maj Ekings at Jacksonville and puting Capt Reed in Command, of that place, while I remain at Center with 20 men of Co "C" and 2 mounted men of Co "G" the later to act as Curiers. I and Capt Reed took Dinner with Mr L .N. Echols the recently appointed Postmaster of Centre where we had a pleasant visit with Him & Family, and met the wife of Thomas Cooper, the Speaker of the State Legislature,, She is by no means brilliant in beauty or (Vertically, at bottom right:-) Intelect
