13 Centre Ala Dec 8" 1865 Friday I sent out Corporal Henry Steen with one man both mounted, on an expedition to take up Govt. Stock. property &c. to the vicinity of McLellans Ferry Coosa River, where I was informed there was one horse in posession of Mr Lockey, and others Both |Horses & Mules in the same region 18 miles from Centre, The weather has Cleared up and it is very beautifull to day for winter weather I went to Singing School this evening there is quite an attendance of young folks who sing well.
