25 Centre Ala Dec 19th 1865 Tuesday Sent Curier to Jacksonville with Dispatches, mail, and James Hamilton a witness to the murder of the Soldier in Danie's Case R.S.Thornton Came up to Day and Settled the Dificulty with His Freed men, as I ordered per note sent by J S Henderson yesterday, See Case 11 of my Private Reports . had another trial betwixt two white & one Black woman to day, where I had dificuty in keeping them from fighting. Both parties were blamable & I Disclined their verbal agreement of living together longer & that the Black woman (Vertically, at right:-) [has?] paid for past Services
