37 Merredian Miss Dec 30" 1865 Saturday the train returned for Demopolis this morning, and we soon loaded up went throught to Demopolis, where we had to transfer our baggage on to the boat and Cross the Tombigby river and retransfer everything to the Cars, and arrived at Meridian at 10 oclock this P.M. where we found the right wing of the Regt. awaiting transportation to Corinth Miss. the distance from Selma to Meridian is 100 miles. We put up at the Ragasdale House where in course of the we were waked up by a Woman who Called out that a Lady was diying in next room
