41 Memphis Tenn Jan 3d 1866 Wedensday I wrote a few line to Mrs C. J. Henderson relative to our Change of here. We received Small Stoves for our Quarters this evening, we have been very uncomfortable & Cold for Several days and Coming from the South into the frozen region the Cold Seems greater or at least we feel it more. Capt Reed & I went to Howes Circus this evening where Some very fine trained Horses, &c and what is purported to be Dan Rice the Origanal Clown & others but I thought His Originalities were rather flat. Commenced boarding at Mrs Parks this evening at $7.00 per week
