42 Memphis Tenn Jan 4" 1866 Thursday Now that our Quarters are redered Comparatively Comfortable by Stoves we have Commenced making out the Muster Rolls for Nov & Dec 1865. Quite a lively business is Carried on in this City now, and an endless tide of human life rushes through every avenue day & night. I am amused by the late change in womans head gear,as every Conceivable device is worn for bonnets, made up of feathers, lace, tinsel, &c, &c, with an enormous bag, called a waterfall hung on behind which gives the head a hideous and unnatural appearance
