45 Memphis Tenn Jan 7" 1866 Sunday I wrote a letter to Mrs C. J. Henderson this morning also one to D B Henderson. I visited the Union Sunday School today a very well conducted institution manged by Mr Bliss, a Preacher who has Charge of a Union Church or a Combination of nearly all Sects it was organized in war times by Loyal people of all Churches & it is still kept, mostly by Northern men doing business in this City. Very pleasant weather today. one fire last night 1/2 block burned
