15 Ills Central R R Jan 22", 1866 Monday Left Centralia this morning at 8 oclock for La Salle snow fell nearly all day, got along very slow, as there are so many trains on the road going south, Arrived at La Salle at 3 o clock A.M. Jan 23" where we found Major Reed waiting for us, with a train nearly ready to take us to Davenport. We find it quite cool to night as we changed from one Depot to the other. The distance from Cairo to La salle is 395 miles.
