17 Davenport Iowa. Wedensday Jan 24/66 The pay Rolls was signed this morning and turned over to the Pay Master for Settlement, The men are nearly all making purchases of Clothing in Iowa to day, and are fast becoming Citizens in appearance and in fact,, I [invested?] for needed Clothing above $60,, There is fine Sleighing in Iowa to day, and the Sleigh Bells are jingling Continuously.
