45 Oct 25 Dubuque Co. Iowa 1861 Our company got part of their Fatigue Uniform to day (to wit) a cap & a miserable short [illegible] coat no better than a wollen shirt I was the only one of our company who refused to take it my plea was its insuf -iciency to keep us warm at this season of the year and unless I know that its cost coresponds with its qual -ity I wont take it
