124 Nov 27 Dubuque Iowa 1861 Companies of us was quartered in the Town Hall and the other 5 Companies in various places in Dubuque. 27 The Reason of delay was because the Boats refused to take us so late in the season and arangments are being made to take us on the Cars through Illinois. It is freezing very hard & ice is in the river in great quantities
