129 1861 Dec 1 Benton Barracks Miss Sunday our Regiment was on for Review for 6 hours today. I was busy fixing my provision chests for the Company. I wrote a letter for Jane this evening. our quarters are not comfortable and the weather is cold we are surrounded by the Horses of the Michigan Cavilry our quarters being back of the regular Barracks
