188 Jan 4 St. Louis 1862 I mailed a letter to Jane on the 4 th 7 Capt. Werner is very sick now. thare was only 26 men of our company fit for duty today 7 We were atached to General [Strongs?] Brigade composed as follows the Iowa 7th and Indiana 25th Iowa 12th Curtises Horse & Spooners Battery for drill purposes
