Sunday May 17th 1885 It was a rainy forenoon. I helped a little with the work but felt any thing but well. I was in bed all the afternoon. I got up and helped with the supper and went to bed again. I have a very sore throat. Monday May 17th 1885 It was a pleasant morning and Mother washed out a few things. I felt better this morning and did up most of the work. I ironed a little in the afternoon. I made a sun bonnet and got in three hours practice. Tuesday May 19th 1885 I gave the house a real good cleaning up this morning while Mother was gone to town. she brought Hatt and both the children home with her. I was too tired to do any thing after dinner. I did not got in much time at the piano today. The Mygatt girls with a cousin spent the even here. [the following is written vertically in the right margin of the above entry] letter from Will Wednesday May 20th 1885 Mother went to town early this morning. Lee got home from his trip to the south and while he looked very tired he has had a grand trip. I went over for my lesson in the afternoon and spent considerable time in looking for a girl. Edith was here all night. Mother went after supper to try and get a girl. I tried to write th Will in the evening but was so tired I could not do it.
