Tuesday October 6th 1885 It was a frosty morning. I went to town real early. I was at Hatts a little while and then up town doing errands for myself. I got home by ten oclock. I sewed all the rest of the day and finished up the old dresses I was fixing I had a letter from Will. worked on my edging in the evening. Wednesday October 7th 1885 We worked awful hard all day cleaning up the sitting and dining roon. I wrote a short letter to Will in the evening and went to bed early. weather pleasanter. Thursday October 8th 1885 We got the stove up in the sitting room in the morning I swept all the lower story of the front part of the house and blacked three stones. Mother was over town in the afternoon. I sewed a little on my pillow cases. I was too tired to do any thing in the evening went to bed early. Friday October 9th 1885 I swept the upper story and did some other work in the forenoon while Mother and Mrs. Swartz did the washing. I ironed most of the afternoon. I had a letter from Ida and Will Work. I measured both. sewed a little in the evening. Saturday October 10th 1885 It was a very pleasant day. Mother was invited to town to visit. Hatt was over with both the children. Henry Pomeroy came at noon and went to bed sick. I was busy trying to fix Lee's military coat and in the evening I mended a lot of stockings.
