Wednesday November 4th 1885 I gave the lower story a good cleaning up in the forenoon and baked a cake. I sewed the lace on the curtains in the parlor bedroom and began a tidy for my room. Mr & Mrs Clute, Mr Fletcher & Frank, John & Hatt were here for supper and spent the evening. We enjoyed it very much. Thuresday November 5th 1885 It looked like rain and began about seven. I went over town early to get some things and finished the tody for my room today. I sent out invitations for a dinner party on Saturday I wrote to Will in the evening. Friday November 6th 1885 It rained part of the day. I began a lambrequin for a shelf in the dining room. baked a cake for my company tomorrow and did mending for Ott in the afternoon. Old Mr. Howe was here in the afternoon. we got him an early supper that he might go home before dark. I worked on the lambrequin all the evening. Saturday November 7th 1885 I got the house in order early for my company. the girls all came but the two from Ryersons. We had a splendid days visit. Hatt and Mollie Stevens were here too. The weather was cold and blustering but they did not let that keep them at home. Our dinner was very nice and passed of pleasantly. I finished the lambrequin ready for the fringe in the evening.
