Monday November 30th 1885 Mollie Stevens who came with Lee from the valley last night and I were in town all the forenoon. I got a lamp fixed for my room that John gave me. I began work in the afternoon on a scarf for our side board. weather pleasant. Hatt came over in the afternoon and John came for her at bed time. Tuesday, December 1st 1885 I was working all day on my side board scarf. We had an excellent visit with Mollie. Mother was in town in the forenoon. I had a letter from Will Reed. Ott is 26 today. Wednesday December 2nd 1885 Mother went to the valley for a two days visit and Mollie went home. I was busy about the work and worked on some lace I was working. weather still pleasant, wrote to Will. Thursday December 3rd 1885 I was busy about the work most of the day. We got the double sash put in the bay window. Mother came home about five oclock. I did not feel well and went to bed early. Friday December 4th 1885 I felt better this morning and helped considerable with the work. Mrs Holmes and Hattie were here for dinner and Mother expected company from the valley that did not come. I stamped a half dozen napkins and embroidered them. It set in to snow late in the afternoon and was a fearful wintery night. The boys were all invited to Minnies to a party but none of them went.
