Thursday January 21st 1886 I worked some more on the boys coats in the forenoon and went to town right after dinner and did not get home till supper time. I finished the coats in the evening. Friday January 22nd 1886 It was horrible day. the boys got their dinners in town I worked some on my muslin sewing. It is too cold to do much. Saturday January 23rd 1886 weather better than yesterday but still very cold. I sewed all day. was very tired when night came. Sunday January 24th 1886 It was still very cold. I sat around the house all day. We did not get dinner till late in the afternoon and John & Hatt were over. They stayed till bed-time. Monday January 25th 1886 It was a splendid day. We had a large washing done and I gave the house as good cleaning up in the afternoon. Will and Jake Petzer was here for supper and Will stayed all night. I was very tired and went to bed early. Tuesday January 26th 1886 I ironed a little this morning and fixed Mothers things ready to go to Berlington this afternoon. It snowed all the afternoon. I sewed some. And when Ott came to supper he said Mother had not gone and was going to stay all night at Hatts and go to the Minstrels tonight. I had a letter from Will which I answered in the evening. I hear that Frank Burckle who was engaged to Miss White is dead.
