Tuesday June 29th 1886 I was washing Mays dress and a pair of pants for Will while Mother went to town in the morning. Will was cutting hay. We went over to Mrs Smiths for supper. It was too warm for comfort. The folks had the work done and we sat on the porch in the evening. I had letters from Pattle, Clara Mussellman and Laura Short. they had been advertized. Wedensday June 30th 1886 We had the washing done in the forenoon. I ironed some in the afternoon and wrote a letter to Sue Reed. Will raked hay in the afternoon and him and Father were out in the field after supper and Mother and I went out there. Thursday June 1sy 1886 I did most of the ironing this morning and helped get things ready for dinner. Ella Robinson and Addie Dickey were here spending the day. We had a pleasant visit Will had a couple of men putting up hay. weather warm. Friday June 2nd 1886 I finished the ironing this morning and cleaned up the house. Aunt Mary and Hatt came just before noon. The men are still putting the hay in the barn. Lee went to [the following text is written vertically in the right margin of the above entry] Chicago. Saturday July 3rd 1886 It was a very warm day. I was working most of the forenoon The men were at work on the hay and Will did not like to have to go to Hatts party. The rest of the folks went. I staid at home to get supper for the men. They got the hay in good order for over Sunday.
