8 Davis Creek Miss July 20th 1864 Wensday A train of teams met us at Salem last night with Rations from La Grange. So we were streanthened to continue our march. The ambulance train with our wounded went on to La Grange today and we stoped at Davis Creek 11 miles from Salem, where we had a good wash rest & a fair supply of Rations. I had a chill last night and had to ride in the ambulance for 2 miles today the only ride I ever had in the service thus far
