32 Talla Hatchie River Miss August 13th. 1864 Saturday all suferflus Baggage was ordered to be sent back to Memphis. & the men prepare to move in light marching order. I Recd a gun & accouterments Complete except Eagle from Capt. Borgen Co. "B", also one gun & Accutrements except Eagle & wiper from Capt Williams Co. "E". no Ball screw with either. The Rebels under Chalmers Came in on our Front this afternoon & a Brigade of our Cavalry with Infantry support, drove them back 6 miles with aloss of 20 prisoners of 4th Iowa & 12th Mo. Cav
