37 Camp Near Abbeville Miss August 18th. 1864 Thursday I Received to day the long looked for letter from Home and I am satisfied from the Contents that there was a previous letter I have not Recd from Jane the contents are gratifing in many respects as Jennie & Judson are getting along finely driving to Mill, shelling Corn, buying pigs, &c But I seem to be missed & am [?] in their prayers. I saw James Henderson to day His Transferal papers have come back disaproved by Gen Logan, so the matter ends. I am reading a very good Mary. Marian Grey or the Heir send Stone Hall, by Holmes
