100 Jefferson City Missouri October 18th. 1864 Tuesday We Reached the City this morning at 8 A.M, Disembarked, and marched half a mile to depot to wait Transportation by R.R. to the front, where old Price is Holding our forces at Bay. Jefferson City is Located on the South Bank of Mo,, River on a sucession of Stoney Bluffs and is Rather an Indifferet City for the Capital of such a fine State. the State Capitol, and State Prison are fine buildings however. The hastily thrown up Earth works by the Malitia show their fear of old Price, and thier anxiety to avoid Him in open fight
