109 Harrisonville Missouri October 27th. 1864 Thursday We lay over at this place to await the arrival of a Supply Train, as we are nearly out of everything, and the Rest is very much needed to heal our blistered feet, & Rest our aching limbs, and to wash our dirty socks, and comb our matted locks, and wash our dirty faces, for we are hard looking Cases, and the right wing of the 16th army Corp have never been so nearly used up before, all this north west missouri has been desolated by the contending factions of bush whackers. and it is naturaly the prettiest Country in the United States
