Durant, Esq New York Dear Sir I enclose herein a/c current, statement of notes in hand and draft on Gilman, Son & Co for $838 44/100 in settlement -- The past due notes will no doubt be paid after harvest -- Michael [Schaull?] is anxiously waiting at Marengo for the deed recently sent you to execute -- I had orders a fortnight since to remove your steam engine from the Railroad Company's yard and having been unable to find a place to put it, I have purchased a lot near the depot and and will have it moved on to it next week -- Mr John F Tracy once offered $1.800-- for the engine -- Yours truly Jno L Coffin
