John L. Coffin Land, Tax-Paying & Commission Agency. Davenport, Iowa Nov 7 18671 H C Crane, Esq NY Dear Sir Yours of 4th inst recd, TC Durant's 100 horsepower double engine is stored here near the railroad depot -- It is in poor condition and has been for years -- rusted -- and all the portable appendages carried off a long time ago, from the depot grounds where it was first landed -- The beds are cracked -- The master mechanic of the CRI & PRR says it is not worth over $1.000 -- and thinks it might be sold in two pieces, perhaps in Chicago -- I will advertise it there, if you say so, and would like a price, limit at which I can let it go -- Yours truly Jno L Coffin
