John L. Coffin, Iowa Land Agency, Offices: Davenport, Iowa, 130 State St, Boston, P.O. Box 3106 Taxes paid. Collections made. Western Lands, Bonds, and Mortgages for sale. Boston, March 24th 1873 H C Crane, Esq New York Dear Sir Mr Diehl, German, calls daily on my local agent at [Victor?], to know if that Deed has come, and he is doubtless quite anxious, as it is an important matter to him and he is waiting to commence work on the property. My assurance that it will come soon does not seem to satisfy him -- Please have the needful done and send, with any other documents awaiting execution, to my Davenport address -- Have you the original surveyor's Plat of Marengo Depot Lots? It was never handed over to me by Cook & Sargent, and is now needed. The Township Supervisors say we must have the Plat recorded, according to law, or they shall be obliged to fine us. I have stayed their action for a while. Yours truly Jno L. Coffin P. O. Box 3106
