OFFICE OF CHARLOTTE REAL ESTATE AGENCY, R.E. COCHRANE, MANAGER. Charlotte, N.C., July 3 1885 Thomas C. Durant Esq New York Dear Sir: Since writing our letter yesterday, our Col Jones has had an interview with Gene R. Barringer, who was at one time attorney for your attorneys in New York, and he says the Lemmond Mine has been sold for taxes, (although no record of such sale appears on the Records), and the matter will thereby be further complicated; but we believe if you will act at once, as suggested, yesterday, we can go ahead in the full belief that we can win in the end. The parties now in possession claim under color of title, and every day that title is undisputed, but adds to the legal complications. Yours Very truly, R.E. Cochrane Mngr.
