attorneys may bring and prosecute or defend in the name & behalf of the Constituents all necessary & proper suits actions or proceedings in any Court of North Carolina or in any Court of the United States having jurisdiction in North Carolina with full power to employ counsel learned in the law to assist them in the prosecution & defense of said suits & proceedings or in the execution of their powers, and said attorneys shall also have the power to employ or substitute other attorneys in fact or agents to assist in the execution of the powers hereby granted and they are empowered to submit to arbitration, compromise or adjust any and all matters of dispute or controversy concerning said lands or mineral interests rights etc. and to give all necessary and proper acquittances discharges & releases and generally they shall have all powers which the constituents might have and exercise if personally present and acting in the premises.
