State of New York City and County of New York. KNOW ALL MEN BY THESE PRESENTS, that we, Mrs. Heloise H. Durant, widow of Thomas C. Durant, and Heloise H.Frethey and William West Durant, heirs of Thomas C.Durant deceased, late of the County and State of New York, WITNESSETH: That the said named parties do by these presents make, constitute and appoint R.E. Cochrane of the County of Mecklenburg and State of North Carolina, their true and lawful Agent and Attorney, in fact, to enter upon, take possession of, and when and where necessary to demand, sue for, recover and reduce to possession any and all real estate or interests in real estate corporeal or incorporeal and all minerals thereon or mineral rights or interests therein, and especially all rights or privileges to dig or mine the same for gold and other minerals, the said real estate being situated and located in Union County, North Carolina, and further all other mineral in- ests in any real estate or lands in said Union County, and all rights and privileges to mine or dig the said real estate so situated, for gold and other minerals, and particularly to enter upon and take possession of, and if necessary for that purpose to sue for and recover a certain tract of land in said Union County conveyed by W. P. Muse to Thomas C. Durant by deed dated 3rd March 1854 and regis- tered in the Registrar's office of said Union County, in Book 4, Page 212, to which reference may be had for a more particular description, said tract containing 50 acres, the mineral interests thereof being reserved in the said deed, also the mineral interests in the following tracts of land, a description of which is contained in a certain deed from Caleb Phifer and George L. Phifer to Thomas C. Durant, dated the 1st day of March 1854, and registered in the Registrar's office of the County of Union, in Book 4, Page 198, together with all the rights, ways, privileges, franchise, woods and all other rights,
