Dear Sir
Since my answer to your letter of the 23rd of April I have been anxiously waiting with the hope that Mr. Durant would sign the paper and send it to me.  As a result of the delay I have had to suspend any further negotiations with reference to the sale of the property much to my regret.  My friends who proposed [buying?] the property have spent considerable money in prospecting & developing it.  The option I gave them expired on the 15th of this month and under the present condition of things, it is not prudent for me to make further engagements unless I can meet them and you can readly see that this cannot be done, until the Durants come to my assistance.  Please enclose this to them & ask them to sign the paper & let me have as soon as possible.  [Yrs truly?] RE Cochrane
