Rome, Nov. 19./66 Mr. H. Crane. Dear Sir, I find today on my return to Rome, a letter from Miss Molineux dated June last written for Mrs Durant. Authorising me, to value upon Mr. Durant, for 100 [pounds] Sterling, being the price agreed upon, between Mrs Durant and myself. for a piece of work which She ordered from My studio, & which I trust has ere this, been safely received. This letter, being sent by private hand, never reached me in America, where I remained until the 3rd of Oct. and has only just reached me here. In conformity with the instructions therein contained, I have authorised Mr J. R Garland, to call upon you for the amount specified, which you will oblige me by paying to
