Charlotte NC July 22nd 1856 Thos C Durant [illegible] New York Dear Sir I went to the mine yesterday found them about all [illegible]. The one will be here tonight and will be shipped for Lexington Thursday [illegible] and teams will be there to take it out to Silver [illegible] if their [furniseses?] is ready, shall put it through quick I shall spend two or three days at the Lindsey and see what is going on at that place. I told Mr. Pulson to cart the pumps on the first of the week. I wrote a few lines to you on Saturday saying that I had [illegible] the [illegible] Mine, and that I had [illegible] on you at 30 days for Eleven Hundred dollars (but I did not [illegible] so) But I have this [illegible] [illegible] on you at [illegible] for $1100 to pay off the debts of the [illegible] [illegible] [illegible] [illegible] but out of that I have kept the $450 for the [illegible] that was sold
