Copy In consideration of the sum of one dollar to me in hand paid by the said Hugh Downing I do hereby extend the period for the purchase of the premises described in the foregoing agreement or of the purchase of the bond & mortgage for one year after the time therein specified, and said agreement shall have the same effect as though the the period for making such purchase originally inserted therein had been two years instead of one year. New York May 14 1868. C. W. Durant seal State of New York City & County of New York [illegible] on the 15th day of May 1868 before me personally came Charles W. Durant to me known to be the same person described in and who executed the foregoing instrument & acknowledged to me that he executed the same. (signed) Theo. F. [illegible] N. Y. Court
