State of North Carolina It [appearing?] to me Samuel J Penson one of the Judges of the Superior Court in and for the State alone said that the execution of the foregoing deed has been duly [proven?] according to law: It is therefore [illegible] that the same together with the accompanying Certificates be registered 16th [Nov?] 1837 Samuel J. Penson Received for Registration 21 Nov. 1837 J.M.[illegible] State of North Carolina Union County, Office of the Register of Deeds, May 15th 1885. I hereby certify that the foregoing is a true copy of a mortgage from Robert Taylor and Emily M Taylor to Thomas M [Durant?] as found registered in my office in Book No 3 pages 424, 425, and 426. [illegible], Register of Deeds for [illegible], Deputy Register
