Friday January 19th 1883 It was a very cold day and we worked all our spare time at the pork and got the grease all fryed out. I was very tired and did not try to do any work but wrote a long letter to Vene and sent her one of our group pictures. Sunday January 14th 1883 (I omitted to write for this date in its proper place) I worked about the house all the forenoon and in the afternoon and evening wrote letters to Laura Short Lou VanCamp and Emma Duhadway I sent Emma a group picture of the boys boarding here. Saturday January 20th 1883 I was working about the house most of the day. It is the coldest weather I ever knew. I mended some mittens in the evening. How I wish it would moderate
