2nd line of the Chicago, R. Island & Pacific R.R. You can hardly find a yard that is not tastefully decorated with flower beds, many of them quite elaborately. We have two parks & our cemetery at the East end of town has the reputation of being the nicest of any in this part of Iowa. Durant is one mile long & half a mile wide & is surrounded by a very fertile and beautiful farming country. I hope you will come & see it & us. We are 20 miles West of Rock Island. Last year we completed a Library Building which we have named "Durant-Hall" in honor of Mr Thomas C. Durant. If you will kindly send me your address, I will send you a photo.
