John L. Coffin, Iowa Lands. J. Howard Henry, Attorney at Law. Coffin & Henry, 130 State St., Boston} Offices: { Davenport, Iowa. Iowa lands bought, sold, and managed. Iowa farm mortgages for sale. Boston, May 17th 1875 H. C Crane, Esq. Atty Dear Sir, Yours of 15th inst recd - Enclosed find two original letters from Geo. B. Corkhill, Clerk of Circuit Court U.S. at Des Moines, to us, dated 27 Jany, and 10 Feby respectively - by which you will see that the amount claimed is $71.50, being for costs in a case where Whitvers & Wright, of Des Moines, were attorneys for plaintiff (TCD) - We wrote Whitvers & Wright to know how the matter stood, but recd no satisfaction in their reply - The case where Edmonds & Ransom were attorneys, the costs are said to have been paid, though not satisfied on the records, and E & R promised to have it done, and consequently we can only remind them occasionally to have it attended to - We hope you will find some a/c with Whitvers & Wright showing a settlement of the matter, and would investigate pretty thoroughly before paying it - Yours truly Coffin & Henry
